Information For GPs

Cambridge Urology Partnership would be pleased to accept referrals from GP’s and other medical practitioners concerning all aspects of urology.

We aim to provide a comprehensive and specialist service covering all aspects of urology, and between us we have a number of subspecialist interests. This means that your patient will receive an expert opinion. It also means that we, as a group, are able to provide cover for our patients on a daily basis. As well as general urology, our special interests include the management of BPH and its treatment by Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP), urological stone disease, investigation and management of prostate cancer and its treatment using the Da Vinci Robot, laparosocopy for renal tumours and PUJ obstruction, and open surgery for prostate, bladder and renal cancer.

Referrals may be sent by post or fax, either by letter or using the Cambridge Urology Partnership One Week Wait suspected cancer referral form or Referral for consideration for Robotic Radical Prostatectomy form, on this site. You may also use the enquiry form on the referral forms page. Further contact details are provided on the contact us page.

We understand that GPs are facing an ever increasing workload, with numerous protocols and changing treatment pathways. We have thus included, on this site, comprehensive information on urological treatments for patients, including information sheets on the procedures which we perform, and have attached some information sheets for GPs and treatment pathways.

If you wish to find out further information about the management of any particular urological condition, please visit the website of the European Association of Urology, through which all of their guidelines can be accessed. These guidelines are a thorough evidence based review of the diagnosis and management of various urological conditions.
